GREENSKIN reimagines the function of a greenhouse as a double skin facade wrapping around the usable interior space of the building, thereby dual purposing the high temperature heating required to grow tropical foods in doors. This double skin greenhouse facade minimizes the temperature differential needed to heat an all-glass building in a cold environment, enabling uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscapes. Additionally, it creates an interactive element between the building’s users and the growing farm-to-table fruits and vegetables, establishing a direct relationship and participation between people and the food they consume.
